Fee assumptions and limits
- Marketplace commission: 10.75%, or 9.25% with Pro. Pro adds 2.5%. Item commission and Pro fees each cap at $75; shipping fees are uncapped.
- Marketplace transaction fee: 2.5% of items, shipping and buyer tax, plus $0.30. Tax affects fees but is not seller revenue.
- Direct cards from $0.40 through $2.49: 50% item fee, with other modeled fees waived. At $2.50 and above: $1.12 plus 8.95% commission, 2.5% transaction fee, and Pro’s 2.5% when applicable. No fixed transaction charge.
- Fee components round to cents using nearest-even rounding. TCGplayer’s example pages contain some inconsistent totals; this calculator follows the published rate rules and rounding policy.
Do not use an order total as the card price: per-item caps and Direct thresholds make that misleading. This tool excludes refunds, adjustments, international and Sync fees, subscriptions, income tax and any expenses you have not entered.

Marketplace sale
Card $65.31 + shipping $0.99; buyer tax $4.64. Basis $40.00; seller costs $1.50.
Commission $7.13 + Pro $0.00 + transaction $2.07 + Direct $0.00 = $9.20 fees.
$66.30 − $9.20 = $57.10 proceeds. Subtract $41.50 entered costs: $15.60 profit.
Same sale with Pro
Card $65.31 + shipping $0.99; buyer tax $4.64. Basis $40.00; seller costs $1.50.
Commission $6.13 + Pro $1.65 + transaction $2.07 + Direct $0.00 = $9.85 fees.
$66.30 − $9.85 = $56.45 proceeds. Subtract $41.50 entered costs: $14.95 profit.
Low-value Direct card
Card $2.00 + shipping $0.00; buyer tax $0.00. Basis $0.50; seller costs $0.10.
Commission $0.00 + Pro $0.00 + transaction $0.00 + Direct $1.00 = $1.00 fees.
$2.00 − $1.00 = $1.00 proceeds. Subtract $0.60 entered costs: $0.40 profit.
Direct card above the threshold
Card $4.00 + shipping $0.00; buyer tax $0.00. Basis $1.00; seller costs $0.20.
Commission $0.36 + Pro $0.00 + transaction $0.10 + Direct $1.12 = $1.58 fees.
$4.00 − $1.58 = $2.42 proceeds. Subtract $1.20 entered costs: $1.22 profit.
Frequently asked questions
Is this my payout or my profit?
Proceeds subtract platform fees from the item price and buyer-paid shipping. Estimated profit also subtracts your card basis and entered seller costs. Sales tax is not counted as revenue.
Can I enter a whole basket of cards?
No. This estimate covers one card in one domestic US transaction. Mixed baskets, multiple quantities, Sync accounts, international sales and Pro Website orders are outside its scope.
Does Pro always cost less?
No. Pro has an additional fee. Compare the complete fee breakdown and the tools you need rather than the commission percentage alone.
