Costco runs the most profitable Pokémon drops at any US retailer. The Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection at $119 retail flipped for $400+ within hours. Catching one Costco drop per quarter pays for an entire year of restock Discord access.
When Costco restocks Pokémon
- Online (costco.com): Random weekday mornings, no fixed schedule. Roughly once a month.
- In-warehouse: Front-of-store seasonal aisle or toy aisle. Drops happen overnight, members find them at open.
- Hot SKUs: sell out in under 5 minutes online, under 30 minutes in-warehouse.
The Costco SKU advantage
Costco gets exclusive Pokémon bundle SKUs you cannot buy anywhere else. The PE Super Premium Collection, the 151 Ultra Premium Bundle, and the Holiday Collector Boxes are all Costco-exclusive arrangements. Resale demand is brutal for these — they ship loose product that flippers can't find at Walmart.
Costco drops require Discord alerts. Period.
Costco does not announce drops. costco.com pages stay 404 until the SKU goes live, then sell out before you finish typing the URL. Only paid restock Discords running Costco SKU monitors catch these.
Member vs non-member buying
Costco membership ($65/yr) is required for in-warehouse purchases. Non-members can buy on costco.com with a 5% surcharge — still profitable for high-margin SKUs like the PE Super Premium. If you flip even two Costco drops a year, the membership pays for itself.
In-warehouse strategy
- Get to your warehouse at open. Pokémon SKUs almost always land in the front seasonal aisle near the entrance.
- Check the toy aisle second.
- Don't ask staff. They rarely know specific SKU stock and can't check the back without a manager.
- Costco has a 1-2 per member soft cap on hyped SKUs. Bring a second authorized member.
Online checkout speed
costco.com is slower than Target or Walmart at checkout. Pre-fill payment and shipping in your Costco account. The cart-to-confirmation flow is 6 clicks; practice it once before you need it.
What to flip vs hold
- Flip immediately: Super Premium Collections, Ultra Premium Bundles. Resale peaks in the first 2 weeks.
- Hold: sealed booster boxes from out-of-print sets (Crown Zenith, Paldean Fates). Long-term appreciation.
- Avoid: standard ETBs and booster bundles — Costco's price advantage is small and resale margin is tight.
